Throughout my years as a mental health therapist and owner of a large, for-profit practice for almost a decade, I’ve seen far too many people struggle to access the mental health care they need. For many, work schedules, transportation challenges, affordability, and lack of insurance often create overwhelming barriers. Even for those who do have insurance, the insurance system itself can be a major obstacle — limited coverage, high deductibles, long waitlists, and restrictive provider networks frequently prevent people from getting timely, consistent support. Therapy by Lori Mangan does not accept health insurance.
Traditionally, Lori's sessions as a licensed and highly trained clinician would range from $150 to $250 per session. However, Lori currently offers a package of three 50‑minute sessions for a total of $150, making high‑quality therapy significantly more accessible. Lori is able to maintain this reduced rate because of an intentionally built, streamlined practice model: Lori doesn't spend money on marketing or commercial office space, Lori does not accept insurance (which eliminates administrative overhead and billing costs), Lori avoids credit card processing fees, and sessions are purchased in three‑session packages. Every choice was designed to keep costs down while keeping quality high so clients can receive meaningful care without financial strain.
Lori's mission is to make quality mental healthcare accessible to as many people as possible. While this model may not meet everyone's need, it opens the door for individuals and families who want professional support but cannot afford $150+ per session or cannot navigate the barriers created by insurance. It’s a practical and sustainable way to expand access — and a step toward ensuring more people have access to quality mental health services.
Lori is currently providing therapy in person and virtually as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with licenses to practice therapy in Florida, Ohio, and Kentucky. Lori earned her master’s degree in social work from Northern Kentucky University in 2015 and has since dedicated her career to helping individuals, couples, families, and groups achieve emotional wellness and lasting change.
